II. Mechanism of Action

Snap-8 is an upgraded version of Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-3), composed of 8 amino acids, with N-terminal acetylation modification, and the sequence is Ac-Glu-Glu-Met-Gln-Arg-Arg-Ala-Asp-NH₂.

Core Mechanism: Competitively inhibits the assembly of the SNARE complex. It mimics the N-terminal structure of the SNAP-25 protein, competitively binding to Syntaxin and VAMP (Synaptobrevin) with endogenous SNAP-25, disrupting the stable formation of the SNARE complex.

Effects: Reduces the release of acetylcholine from nerve endings, gently weakens facial muscle contractions, does not cause complete muscle paralysis, and the effect is reversible.

Inhibition of Dynamic Wrinkle Formation: Targets forehead wrinkles, crow's feet around the eyes, and frown lines caused by facial muscle contraction. In vitro models show a 30%-63% reduction in wrinkle depth.
